We’re seeking a Director of Catering who understands how exceptional food and gracious service can shape meaningful experiences. This role oversees a dynamic catering program within a respected, service focused environment where professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail truly matter. Reporting to the District General Manager, you’ll guide the day to day operations of the catering department—from intimate luncheons to large scale gatherings. Job Responsibility:
Lead and coordinate events of varying size and complexity, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish
Meet with internal stakeholders to understand their needs, including menus, room layouts, rentals, staffing, and event flow
Manage bookings, prepare event documentation, and provide final approval before details are confirmed
Partner closely with the Chef to develop menus that are thoughtful, seasonal, and memorable
Provide clear direction to your team so every event reflects the expected level of polish and professionalism
Oversee daily refreshment and coffee service and local food service program, ensuring clean, quality and inviting spaces & service
Ensure every guest receives warm, attentive, and refined service
Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and overall guest experience
Oversee purchasing, inventory, and cost management for the catering department
Analyze financial performance, monitor key cost drivers, and make informed decisions to support program sustainability and growth
Participate in operational reviews and contribute to ongoing improvements
Build and manage the catering budget with accuracy and accountability
Identify opportunities to enhance and grow the catering program
Cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners
Address concerns with discretion, empathy, and professionalism
Lead scheduling, training, and performance management for your team
Ensure all staff follow Health & Safety policies and organizational procedures
Uphold brand standards and participate in ongoing training and program development
Requirements:
2–4 years of catering or hospitality leadership experience
A proven ability to build strong relationships and support program growth
Completion of a Hospitality or Food & Beverage program (or equivalent experience)
Exceptional customer service skills and a natural ability to connect with people
Confident leadership abilities and experience guiding a team
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
A discerning eye for quality, consistency, and presentation
Comfort working with budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting, with the ability to translate numbers into practical operational decisions
