Job Description

The Director of Catering & Conference Services oversees the planning and execution of all social and group events, serving as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments. This role ensures all contractual requirements are met, guides planners through the event process, and delivers seamless experiences that achieve high levels of client satisfaction across Four Seasons Resort Lana’i, Sensei Lana’i, and all other Four Seasons Lana’i entities.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the planning and execution of all social and group events, serving as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments
  • Ensure all contractual requirements are met
  • Guide planners through the event process
  • Deliver seamless experiences that achieve high levels of client satisfaction
  • Lead all aspects of team management
  • Oversee financial performance through labor management, budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, inventory oversight, and contractor invoice reconciliation
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence
  • Build strong client and guest relationships
  • Negotiate contracts, menus, and event proposals
  • Develop and uphold departmental standards
  • Oversee event planning and execution
  • Coordinate group logistics with Front Office and Guest Services
  • Finalize event details and documentation (BEOs, resumes, reports)
  • Drive upselling opportunities
  • Maintain accurate billing
  • Ensure consistent communication and follow-up using systems such as Golden Sales & Catering and Outlook
  • Collaborate with Sales, F&B, and operations teams to coordinate events

Requirements

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
  • The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required
  • Hawaii Driver’s Abstract is required for this role
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
  • Three years or more experience in a leadership position within Conferences Services
