Job Description

The Director of Caregiver Services is a key leadership role and will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, retention, and overall management of caregivers. This individual ensures the highest standards of care are provided to clients while fostering a supportive and engaging environment for caregiving staff. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of home healthcare operations, strong leadership skills, and a passion for improving the lives of clients and caregivers alike.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top-quality caregivers
  • Foster relationships with schools, community organizations, and industry groups to build a robust pipeline of talent
  • Monitor and improve caregiver satisfaction and engagement through regular feedback and support initiatives
  • Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive training programs for new and existing caregivers, focusing on skills development, compliance, and client care
  • Ensure caregivers meet all state and federal requirements, including certifications and continuing education
  • Create career development pathways to promote professional growth and advancement within the organization
  • Collaborate with other departments to align caregiver operations with company goals and client needs
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across caregiver services
  • Manage caregiver scheduling and assignments, ensuring optimal coverage and workload distribution
  • Act as a liaison between caregivers, clients, and their families to address concerns and ensure satisfaction with services provided
  • Work closely with case managers to match caregivers with clients based on skills, preferences, and needs
  • Monitor and evaluate caregiver performance, providing constructive feedback and recognition for exceptional work
  • Implement quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of care and compliance
  • Use data analytics to assess trends, identify areas for improvement, and drive strategic initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, social work, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in home healthcare or a related industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • In-depth knowledge of caregiver operations, compliance requirements, and best practices
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in caregiver management software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • The Life Guidance Director ensures that the Company’s philosophy is implemented and practiced within the Life Guidance neighborhood of the community
  • Maintain a positive and energetic environment for residents with dementia
  • Manage and supervise clinical and non-clinical Life Guidance (LG) staff, including the LGRSA and LGPS. Properly schedule and delegate assignments, provide direction, complete performance reviews (including input on pay adjustments), recruit, hire, and provide corrective action consistent with company policy, as well as provide support, direction, feedback, and training for such staff. Properly schedule clinical and non-clinical staff for their proper shifts
  • Execute and organize the daily programs for the Life Guidance neighborhood, including all required programs in the daily calendar of events, and ensure it is being implemented twenty-four (24) hours a day and seven (7) days a week. Work with the Support Center to provide community-specific programming options
  • Ensure each Life Guidance staff member has completed New Hire Orientation within the required time frame
  • Lead, direct, assist staff, and encourage learning by modeling the proper approaches and communication techniques
  • Conduct the monthly dementia in-service for all staff and maintain the necessary records to reflect the completion of training
  • Build relationships with new residents by effectively utilizing the proper new resident onboarding tools and assessments
  • Manage and maintain the budget for the Life Guidance Program using the virtual checkbook
  • Maintain a supportive relationship with resident’s families and caregivers
