We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Benefits to join our team in Redlands, California. In this role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and management of employee benefits programs that align with institutional goals and support the university’s academic mission. This is a long-term contract position, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee wellbeing and organizational success.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute a forward-thinking benefits strategy in collaboration with leadership to meet organizational and employee needs
Manage and administer comprehensive employee benefit programs, including health and wellness, retirement plans, and time-off policies
Provide clear and tailored communication about benefits to diverse audiences, ensuring understanding and engagement
Foster open communication with the HR leadership team and other stakeholders, addressing concerns and issues effectively
Resolve conflicts constructively to build consensus and strengthen team collaboration
Oversee faculty and staff benefits programs such as healthcare, tuition, leave policies, wellness initiatives, and international assignments
Lead the planning and execution of the organization-wide open enrollment process, including vendor coordination and employee education
Ensure a seamless employee experience for benefits-related processes, including onboarding, life events, and open enrollment
Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and policies for all benefits programs
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in benefits administration, human resources, or a related field
Strong expertise in managing benefit functions, including coordination and analysis
Familiarity with compensation and benefits strategies and practices
Proficiency in human resources software and tools
Knowledge of FMLA, leave of absence policies, and other regulatory requirements
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver information effectively to various audiences
Proven ability to resolve conflicts and foster collaboration among stakeholders
Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple programs and initiatives
