Job Description:

The Director of Assisted Living and Memory Support provides leadership and oversight for the Assisted Living and Memory Support programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, high-quality resident care, and operational excellence. The role fosters resident independence and satisfaction, develops strong relationships with residents, families, and staff, and builds an engaged, high-performing team while supporting census growth and budget management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Directs the day-to-day operations of the Assisted Living and Memory Support units in compliance with federal, state (Arizona), and local regulations
  • Ensures services are resident-centered and aligned with the organization's mission and quality standards
  • Oversees census development strategies, admissions/discharges, and overall occupancy performance
  • Leads interdisciplinary teams in continuous quality improvement and care outcomes
  • Ensures documentation, medication administration, and service delivery meet licensing and clinical standards
  • Monitors resident conditions, care plans, and medical records, including controlled substances, to ensure ongoing compliance and timely updates
  • Participates in and supports internal audits, licensing surveys, and incident reviews
  • Provide strong, values-based leadership that models accountability, engagement, and collaboration
  • In partnership with Senior Director, recruit, hire, and onboard team members, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and culture
  • Support employee growth through coaching, feedback, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Promote a positive culture grounded in resident dignity, service excellence, and trauma-informed dementia care practices
  • Maintains proactive communication with residents and families, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns
  • Protects resident rights, dignity, and individual choices while promoting a vibrant, safe living environment
  • Conducts regular rounds to ensure safety, cleanliness, and regulatory adherence across all departments
  • Investigates resident and staff incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Monitors and reports key metrics such as falls, hospital transfers, medication errors, and emergency calls
  • Use data to drive performance improvements and operational decision-making

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing or related field
  • Current Assisted Living Facility Manager certification
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience in assisted living, memory support, or senior care services
  • Current RN or LPN license (preferred)
  • Current possession or can obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • The Life Guidance Director ensures that the Company’s philosophy is implemented and practiced within the Life Guidance neighborhood of the community
  • Maintain a positive and energetic environment for residents with dementia
  • Manage and supervise clinical and non-clinical Life Guidance (LG) staff, including the LGRSA and LGPS
  • Properly schedule and delegate assignments, provide direction, complete performance reviews (including input on pay adjustments), recruit, hire, and provide corrective action consistent with company policy, as well as provide support, direction, feedback, and training for such staff
  • Properly schedule clinical and non-clinical staff for their proper shifts
  • Execute and organize the daily programs for the Life Guidance neighborhood, including all required programs in the daily calendar of events, and ensure it is being implemented twenty-four (24) hours a day and seven (7) days a week
  • Work with the Support Center to provide community-specific programming options
  • Ensure each Life Guidance staff member has completed New Hire Orientation within the required time frame
  • Lead, direct, assist staff, and encourage learning by modeling the proper approaches and communication techniques
  • Conduct the monthly dementia in-service for all staff and maintain the necessary records to reflect the completion of training
