The Director of Assessment provides leadership and manages ongoing projects for the assessment of student learning outcomes in curricular, general education, and co-curricular areas and supports academic program review and accreditation activities for the university. The Director coordinates university-wide assessment initiatives while offering consultative and technical application support to colleges, departments, and programs engaged in learning outcomes assessment, program review, and accreditation processes.
Job Responsibility:
Provides leadership and manages ongoing projects for the assessment of student learning outcomes in curricular, general education, and co-curricular areas
Supports academic program review and accreditation activities for the university
Offers consultative and technical application support to colleges, departments, and programs engaged in learning outcomes assessment, program review, and accreditation processes
Works closely with leaders in the Academic Affairs and Innovation (VPAAI) division
Partners with faculty, academic units, and administrative offices to strengthen a culture that utilizes evidence-based assessment to drive decision-making and continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and academic quality
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and ten years of relevant experience
Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience
Master’s degree in education, social sciences, or a related field
Doctoral degree
Demonstrated experience in higher education assessment, program review, and/or accreditation
Strong knowledge of assessment of student learning outcomes and continuous improvement practices
Experience working collaboratively with faculty and academic leadership
Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
Teaching and research experiences
Experience at a large, complex, or research-intensive university
Familiarity with regional and specialized accreditation standards
Experience with assessment management systems, databases, and data visualization tools
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
