Job Description

Cedar Point Club is seeking an energetic, organized, and service-driven Director of Aquatics & Youth Activities to lead our aquatics operations and youth programming. This leadership role is responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for families while delivering high-quality aquatic programs, childcare services, and seasonal camps that enhance the overall member experience. This position is ideal for a motivated leader who thrives in a family-focused club environment and enjoys building programs that keep members active, connected, and engaged.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead Aquatics Operations
  • Oversee daily operations of the pool complex, including lap swimming, children’s areas, water features, and locker rooms
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and water quality standards
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards and swim instructors
  • Develop swim lessons, aquatic programs, and special events
  • Manage Youth & Family Programming
  • Oversee Child Watch services and youth activity spaces
  • Create engaging, age-appropriate programming that supports family participation
  • Supervise and develop youth and childcare staff
  • Direct Summer Camps & Youth Activities
  • Plan and lead five week-long summer camps featuring aquatics, tennis, golf, and recreational activities
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and registrations
  • Support year-round youth events and family-focused programming
  • Provide Operational & Financial Leadership
  • Develop and manage budgets for aquatics, youth programs, and camps
  • Maintain staff certifications and safety training records
  • Track attendance, payroll, and program performance
  • Assist with marketing and member communications related to programs and events
  • Be a Visible Club Leader
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and exceptional member service
  • Collaborate with Tennis, Golf, Food & Beverage, and Club leadership to deliver a seamless member experience
  • Maintain a strong presence in program areas and during special events

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of aquatics or recreation management experience
  • Experience supervising staff and leading youth or family programming
  • Current Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required
  • Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak season
  • Private club, YMCA, or similar facility experience preferred
  • Swim Instructor certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Education, Physical Education, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years in aquatics or pool management, or as an assistant pool manager at a similar facility
  • Prior coaching or competitive swimming experience a plus
  • Prior private club experience preferred

Nice to have

  • Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
  • Private club, YMCA, or similar facility experience
  • Swim Instructor certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Education, Physical Education, or a related field
