Our team comprises MAI-designated and certified appraisers with an average of 35 years of experience, recognized for their excellence in delivering accurate and reliable property valuations. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Appraisal Services to lead our appraisal division. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of commercial real estate valuation, demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, and have a proven track record in managing appraisal teams. This role is pivotal in upholding our commitment to delivering precise and dependable property valuations across various sectors.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage the appraisal team, ensuring high-quality performance and adherence to industry standards
Foster a collaborative and professional work environment that encourages continuous learning and development
Supervise the preparation of comprehensive appraisal reports for diverse property types, including office, industrial, retail, multifamily, land, special-use, and high-end residential properties
Review all appraisals to ensure compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and other relevant regulations
Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing inquiries and providing expert guidance on valuation matters
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored appraisal solutions
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the appraisal services division
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote appraisal services and enhance brand visibility
Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of appraisal reports
Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform appraisal practices
Requirements:
MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute is required
Licensed in good standing, with no prior discipline, with the State of Illinois as a Certified General Appraiser
Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial real estate appraisal, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
Proven experience in appraising various property types and handling complex valuation assignments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in appraisal software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a commitment to fostering a positive team culture
