We are looking for a Director of AI & Data Engineering to build and lead the AI Platform- the foundational engineering capability that enables intelligent automation, agentic systems, and AI-driven workflows across One Call. This role is not a traditional data warehousing or analytics function, and it is not the VP, Data role. Instead, this leader owns the engineering foundation that allows AI systems and product teams to intelligently consume, enrich, and act on data. The AI Platform establishes shared data semantics, quality standards, and reusable services so that automation and AI operate on consistent, trusted, and well-understood information. This role reports to the VP of Strategic Engineering.
Job Responsibility:
Own and evolve the AI Platform (formerly Core Services), including shared data semantics, contracts, and quality standards that enable AI -first capabilities
Design and deliver AI-ready data interfaces, APIs, and services that allow product and platform teams to intelligently consume and augment data
Establish guardrails to ensure AI systems operate on consistent, trusted and well-governed data
Enable agentic workflows, AI-assisted decisioning, and intelligent automation through reusable platform primitives and patterns
Partner closely with Product, Architecture, Application, and Data teams to align platform capabilities with real business and operational needs
Use metrics around data quality, platform adoption, and system health to drive accountability and continuous improvement
Own the AI Platform strategy and long-term technical direction end-to-end, scaling shared data and AI foundations across teams, setting company-wide standards for data semantics and AI readiness, and delegating execution through senior engineers or managers in close partnership with executive leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or business-related field is preferred, or equivalent education, training and relevant work experience
7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leading senior engineers or platform teams
Strong background in data-centric or platform engineering, with experience enabling downstream teams rather than owning end-user features
Experience building or supporting AI-enabled systems, automation platforms, or data-driven decisioning capabilities
Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., healthcare, SOC2, HIPAA)
Experience leading distributed teams across the US and/or Mexico
Ability to work in an environment that aligns with the company's diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging standards
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Demonstrate our core values of Think Big, Go Fast, Deliver Awe, Win Together and Care Deeply
