Director of Accounting

• Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting
• Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with audit requirements
• Supervise accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including journal entries and general ledger management
• Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering growth and development
• Ensure efficient implementation and use of systems like Yardi and P2P for streamlined financial operations
• Oversee bill pay processes and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
• Collaborate with executive leadership to establish and maintain accounting best practices
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting operations and implement effective solutions
• Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries
• Maintain compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards

• Proven experience in financial reporting, audit preparation, and month-end close processes
• Strong knowledge of property or real estate accounting principles
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as Yardi and P2P platforms
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor accounting teams
• Expertise in managing AP, AR, journal entries, and general ledger activities
• Exceptional leadership skills, with a focus on strategic and technical guidance
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA certification is a plus
