Director of Accounting

• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders, including lenders, investors, and auditors
• Conduct technical research to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to streamline operations and ensure consistency
• Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance on special projects and ad hoc reporting
• Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and assist in preparing audit schedules
• Ensure uniform accounting practices across multiple business entities within the organization
• Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal controls, and company policies
• Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements
• Address and resolve any accounting-related issues or challenges that arise
• Lead initiatives to enhance accounting systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, including managerial roles
• At least 2-3+ years of experience in public accounting or a similar environment
• Proven expertise working in a large, multi-unit organization, preferably in the hospitality or retail industry
• In-depth knowledge of technical accounting principles, including GAAP compliance
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and presentation skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a focus on team development and performance management
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• CPA certification is a plus
