We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to oversee financial operations for a dynamic hospitality company in Honolulu, Hawaii. This leadership role focuses on driving financial strategies, ensuring compliance, and optimizing processes to support the organization’s success. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting, reporting, and team leadership while contributing to a collaborative and respectful workplace environment.
Job Responsibility:
Direct and manage financial reporting processes, including preparing accurate financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory compliance requirements
Collaborate with operational teams to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization
Lead efforts to improve labor cost management and streamline operating expenses
Oversee audits, special projects, and business analytics to enhance procedural efficiency
Implement financial systems and tools to improve reporting accuracy and operational effectiveness
Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership based on financial analysis and performance metrics
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members to encourage growth and attention to detail
Conduct regular reviews of financial processes to ensure robust internal controls are in place
Partner with various departments to align financial strategies with organizational goals
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
A minimum of 6–8 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles
Proven expertise in financial systems and software, including Oracle and BirchStreet Systems
Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting standards
CPA certification or an equivalent recognized credential is preferred
Experience with condominium or real estate financial operations is a plus
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage staff effectively
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
