Job Description

The Director of Accounting Strategy, Policy, and Systems is a critical leadership role responsible for optimizing how Finance operates through technology, data, and process design. This role partners closely with the Global and Regional Controllers, IT, and cross functional business teams to ensure accounting systems are scalable, well controlled, and designed to support efficient, high quality reporting. The successful candidate will act as a systems and process architect for Accounting, connecting Oracle, Salesforce, HighRadius, Power BI, and related tools into streamlined, end to end workflows that reflect the underlying economics of the business and reduce manual effort.

Job Responsibility

  • Evaluate current accounting systems, integrations, and workflows to identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and standardize
  • Own the accounting systems roadmap in partnership with IT and Finance leadership
  • Ensure Oracle, Salesforce, HighRadius, Power BI, and related tools are configured to support efficient close, accurate reporting, and strong internal controls
  • Design future state workflows that reduce manual entries, reconciliations, and rework
  • Partner with IT to translate accounting requirements into system solutions and configuration decisions
  • Provide accounting leadership for Oracle and related system initiatives across global teams
  • Guide configuration, data conversion, testing, and cutover activities consistent with accounting requirements and global standards
  • Ensure global accounting policies and system design are aligned and consistently applied
  • Lead UAT planning, execution, and sign off for accounting related changes to all systems
  • Act as the primary accounting escalation point for system issues, risks, and design decisions
  • Ensure systems and processes support SOX compliance and audit requirements
  • Partner with Internal Audit and External Audit to address system related findings and improvements
  • Balance control rigor with operational efficiency
  • Serve as a accounting change champion for system and process transformation
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, and job aids
  • Deliver end user training and support post implementation
  • Coach and develop accounting team members to build long term system ownership and expertise
  • Work cross functionally with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Order to Cash, Source to Pay, and Operations
  • Influence without authority in a fast paced, matrixed environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and or public company environments
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP and accounting operations
  • Hands on experience with major ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion
  • Strong understanding of upstream and downstream systems such as Salesforce, HighRadius, and reporting tools like Power BI
  • Proven ability to design efficient, scalable accounting processes supported by technology
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating at both a detailed execution level and a strategic design level
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast moving environment
