As our Director of Nursing at Mercy Hospital, Council Bluffs, IA, you will contribute by strategically planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining patient care programs, policies, and management systems across assigned departments and campus. Every day you will lead the integration of services to ensure patient-centered care, drive quality and cost-effective improvements, and serve as a role model for ethical management. You will maintain direct operational and matrix management responsibility for all nursing care areas on your assigned campus, actively building strong relationships with physicians, employees, and community stakeholders. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional leadership in patient care administration, collaborating effectively with medical staff and ancillary services. You will embody ethical principles, foster patient experience, and enhance staff engagement, ultimately achieving the objectives of campus operations and contributing to the division's CNO strategy.
Job Responsibility
Strategically plan, design, implement, and maintain patient care programs, policies, and management systems across assigned departments and campus
Lead the integration of services to ensure patient-centered care, drive quality and cost-effective improvements, and serve as a role model for ethical management
Maintain direct operational and matrix management responsibility for all nursing care areas on assigned campus
Actively build strong relationships with physicians, employees, and community stakeholders
Demonstrate exceptional leadership in patient care administration, collaborating effectively with medical staff and ancillary services
Embody ethical principles, foster patient experience, and enhance staff engagement
Maintain management responsibility for all nursing care areas located at his/her assigned hospital regardless of reporting structure
Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements
Develop, maintain, and evaluate patient/resident/client and staff data collection systems and processes
Develop, maintain, and evaluate organizational planning systems to facilitate the delivery of nursing care
Monitor the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services administration
Review cost, quality, safety, utilization, and value data regularly with nursing leaders, clinical leaders, and health system executives
Lead change activities in accordance with CommonSpirit change models
Collaborate with facility President/CEO on administrative decision making
Requirements
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and minimum of Seven (7) years of experience in the discipline
Masters Degree must be obtained within Two (2) years
Masters of Nursing and Four to Six (4-6) years plus Five (5) years of leadership experience
Active RN license in the state of NE
Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA)
