Job Description

Provides strategic leadership in the development and implementation of the department of Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice. Provides vision and leadership for development of an agenda encompassing interdisciplinary research, evidence-based practice (EBP), nursing outcome datasets, and Magnet re-designation. Provides leadership for programs of research within the department as well as conducting own program of research. Facilitates research utilization in clinical practice and research consultation/collaboration with nurses and interdisciplinary colleagues. Defines needed infrastructure which to supports and directs nursing and interdisciplinary EBP and research activities. Develops a system and support for engaging and mentoring nurse scientists, Advanced Practice Nurses and clinical staff. The translation of clinically relevant research into clinical practice are key components of this role. Reports to the Vice President for Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer.

Requirements

  • License RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin required
  • Terminal Degree (PhD, DNP, etc.) required
  • Ten or more years of experience conducting clinically relevant research and publishing relevant findings
  • Academic and professional expertise in pediatric nursing preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary health care team to enhance collaboration and problem solving
  • High degree of resourcefulness and independent motivation
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well with colleagues and community agencies
