Job Description

As our Director Nursing Perioperative and Women's Services at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital you will be responsible for Surgical Services and general oversight of the Family Birth Center. We provide comprehensive surgical care in 4 operating rooms, including a dedicated C-section suite. Annually, we perform approximately 2,000 cases, encompassing a wide range of specialties such as general surgery, GYN, ortho and ortho trauma, as well as various endoscopy procedures. You will direct the operations, work with Sr. Leadership on key initiatives, and work with other front-line leaders to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care in very fast paced environments. You will advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators in matters related to patient care, clinical best practices, and strategies. You will communicate the organization’s goals to the staff as we constantly seek to better serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional quality care. We are looking for an experienced leader, with a track record of success overseeing Perioperative or Women's services for an acute-care Hospital. To thrive in this role, you must be competent and confident, with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nursing leadership experience in either perioperative or women's services

  • Quality & Safety: Integrate evidence-based nursing practices into protocols and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Joint Commission, and other accrediting bodies)
  • Collaboration: Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and service delivery
  • Other Duties: Maintain regular and reliable attendance and perform additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Recruits, mentors, and develops perioperative nursing staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability
