We are seeing a Senior coverage banker who will provide comprehensive coverage of the Specialty Finance and Mortgage Finance segments, including, but not limited to, Consumer Lending (credit cards, automotive, personal loans, premium finance, etc.), Debt Buyers/Collectors, Commercial Lending (equipment finance, industrial/aviation leasing), and mortgage origination and servicing (including MSR lending). In coordination with the specialty finance and mortgage finance industry coverage bankers, this individual will be responsible for driving origination opportunities for multiple products including bank debt, treasury, global markets, capital markets, and M&A. Individual must maintain a deep level of understating of opportunities/risks/trends in each of these broader industries and sub-segments. Requires team mentality to collaborate with internal risk/underwriting teams, Investment Banking, Asset-Backed Securitization (“ABS”), as well as Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and Treasury/Liquidity Services.
Job Responsibility:
Actively partner with portfolio management, corporate finance, capital markets, and risk management
Significant focus on developing new relationships through a rigorous prospect calling effort
Responsible for driving the overall client relationship and profitability and will be cross-selling the full slate of bank products
Interact with senior management of public and privately owned companies and Private Equity firms’ portfolio companies
Develop new relationships and up-tiering the bank’s position with existing clients through proactively presenting financial solutions
Develop and deliver presentations to the bank’s executive management at screening and approval meetings in conjunction with deal team partners
Influence and function well in a team environment and view credit/client situations from multiple angles, debate the merits of a given transaction and defend their position both internally and externally
Maintain the effective license to operate by sustaining a high level of trust and confidence by senior line and risk management
Requirements:
7+ years of Specialty Finance/Mortgage corporate banking/corporate finance experience
Exhibited competency in client relationship management, financial analysis and credit structuring
Seasoned, credit trained banker who has thrived in a credit intensive environment
Skill at negotiation and the development of loan structuring options
Skilled in managing large credit exposures and complex credit situations
Meaningful, relevant experience with companies in the assigned territory
Demonstrated ability to up-tier relationships to Left Lead and Joint Lead Arranger
Strong experience at a highly advanced level of credit, documentation, proposal, and negotiations
Strong understanding of credit and covenant structures and documenting loans
Demonstrated desire to succeed and drive business
Exhibits comprehensive written and verbal communication skills
Reputation as a team player
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience
Master’s degree preferred
Series 79 or 7 & 63 licenses or ability to get licenses
