Job Description:

Senior coverage banker role would include comprehensive coverage of the insurance segments, including, but not limited to, property and casualty carriers, life and annuity carriers, title companies, distributors, and services. In coordination with the insurance industry coverage bankers, this individual will be responsible for driving origination opportunities for multiple products including bank debt, treasury, global markets, capital markets, and M&A. Individual must maintain a deep level of understating of opportunities/risks/trends in each of these sub-segments. Requires team mentality to collaborate with internal risk/underwriting teams, Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and Treasury/Liquidity Services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Actively partner with portfolio management, corporate finance, capital markets, and risk management
  • Significant focus on developing new relationships through a rigorous prospect calling effort
  • Responsible for driving the overall client relationship and profitability and will be cross-selling the full slate of bank products
  • Interact with senior management of public and privately owned companies and Private Equity firms’ portfolio companies
  • Develop new relationships and up-tiering the bank’s position with existing clients through proactively presenting financial solutions
  • Develop and deliver presentations to the bank’s executive management at screening and approval meetings in conjunction with deal team partners

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Financial Institutions - Insurance corporate banking/corporate finance experience
  • Exhibited competency in client relationship management, financial analysis and credit structuring
  • Seasoned, credit trained banker who has thrived in a credit intensive environment
  • Skill at negotiation and the development of loan structuring options
  • Skilled in managing large credit exposures and complex credit situations
  • Meaningful, relevant experience with companies in the assigned territory
  • Demonstrated ability to up-tier relationships to Left Lead and Joint Lead Arranger
  • Strong experience at a highly advanced level of credit, documentation, proposal, and negotiations both internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of credit and covenant structures and documenting loans
  • Demonstrated desire to succeed and drive business
  • Exhibits comprehensive written and verbal communication skills
  • Reputation as a team player
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Series 79 or 7 & 63 licenses or ability to get licenses
