Job Description

The Director of Media Planning is a senior strategic leader responsible for guiding multi-channel media strategy across domestic and international markets. This role blends analytical rigor with creative thinking to develop full-funnel, data-driven media plans that drive meaningful business growth. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients, lead cross-functional team collaboration, mentor junior talent, and help shape the development of proprietary tools and attribution models. In addition, you will play a key role in new business through compelling storytelling and strategic pitching.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the development of multi-channel media strategies that drive measurable business growth
  • Oversee planning across channels including Linear TV, CTV, YouTube, Audio, Print, OOH, Social, and Search
  • Plan and manage a mix of national and local campaigns focused on both brand and performance KPIs, with reach and frequency as core metrics
  • Guide media planning and execution across domestic and international markets
  • Use proprietary and third-party data to target audiences effectively and shape strategic recommendations
  • Analyze response data and attribution model outputs to inform ongoing optimizations and future planning
  • Build strong client relationships by demonstrating curiosity, passion for their business, and a strategic perspective on budget allocation
  • Present campaign results and actionable recommendations to client stakeholders
  • Apply a full-funnel approach to campaign evaluation and storytelling
  • Share insights and learnings across the Media Planning team
  • Develop and pitch innovative media ideas that expand clients’ media footprints

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in agency media planning
  • Expertise in cross channel planning
  • Experience planning domestically and internationally
  • Familiarity with the accelerated growth goals of entrepreneurial clients
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with Nielsen/Comscore, R/F planning and reporting, Commspoint, iSpot, Competitive Tracking Tools, MRI (or similar tools)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Stays on top of current trends, and willing to take calculated risks
  • Strong leader, coach, and mentor who invests in developing talent
  • Experience and enthusiasm for contributing to new business pitches
