Job Description

The Director of Mausoleum & Feature Sales at Rock of Ages Corp is responsible for leading and executing the strategic vision for mausoleum and architectural memorial sales across the organization. This role oversees the development, design, estimating and sales of granite mausoleums, feature memorials, and architectural stone projects while driving revenue growth and expanding market presence. The Director will collaborate with cemetery partners, architects, contractors, and internal teams to develop customized memorial solutions that meet client needs while maintaining the highest standards of design, craftsmanship, and functionality. This position provides leadership to sales, estimating and design teams, ensuring projects are executed efficiently from concept through completion.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and execute the strategic sales plan for mausoleum and feature memorial projects to drive revenue growth and market expansion
  • Lead and mentor the mausoleum sales and design teams to ensure high performance, collaboration, and achievement of sales goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with memorial retailers, cemeteries, funeral homes, architects, engineers, contractors, and key industry partners
  • Oversee the design, planning, estimating and development of granite mausoleums, feature memorials, and architectural stone projects
  • Collaborate with internal design teams to create architectural concepts, detailed plans, and project specifications that meet client expectations
  • Provide executive oversight of projects to ensure quality, timeline adherence, and budget control
  • Review architectural drawings, material take-offs, and project specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility
  • Guide project teams through the full lifecycle of mausoleum projects from concept, design, and proposal through construction and completion
  • Conduct client consultations and presentations to develop customized solutions
  • Identify new business opportunities, emerging markets, and strategic partnerships within the memorial and cemetery industries
  • Ensure alignment between design, engineering, production, and installation teams to deliver exceptional project outcomes
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting on sales performance, project status, and market opportunities
  • Represent Rock of Ages at industry events, trade shows, and professional organizations

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in the stone, memorial, architectural, or cemetery industry
  • Proven leadership experience in sales, business development, or architectural project management
  • Strong knowledge of designing, planning, estimating, and supervising construction of granite mausoleums and memorial structures
  • Demonstrated ability to develop design proposals, provide estimates, and manage complex architectural projects
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, contractors, and cemetery personnel
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design platforms
  • Experience with photo-realistic rendering software and visualization tools
  • Strong understanding of architectural drawings, blueprint development, and material take-offs
  • Strong mathematical aptitude including geometry and structural layout principles
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and market awareness
