In Audit, you'll play a crucial role in providing independent, reliable, and insightful assurance to the Board and executive management. Requirements:
Collaborate and support the Portfolio Manager to define the appropriate coverage strategy and audit plan for Global Markets – Credit and Municipal businesses
As an Audit Owner, guide, review and approve work carried out on audit assignments
Lead the relationships with the Accountable Executives and infrastructure leads covering Global Markets – Credit and Municipal businesses
Deputise where needed for the Portfolio Manager at relevant governance committees and meetings
Grow capable and diverse talent within the BIA Markets team
Deliver a view on the effectiveness and adequacy of risk management and controls to the business and BIA management
Contribute to clear and insightful committee reporting for Group and legal entities
Build a deep understanding of the Global Markets – Credit and Municipal businesses
Drive efficient delivery of the audit plan
Ensure lessons learnt are undertaken where events/issues are identified
Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management
Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan
Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk
Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders
Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments
To manage a business function, providing significant input to function wide strategic initiatives
Manage the direction of a large team or sub-function
Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees
Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub-function
Escalates breaches of policies / procedure appropriately
Foster and guide compliance
Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups
