In Audit, you'll play a crucial role in providing independent, reliable, and insightful assurance to the Board and executive management. Requirements:

  • Collaborate and support the Portfolio Manager to define the appropriate coverage strategy and audit plan for Global Markets – Credit and Municipal businesses
  • As an Audit Owner, guide, review and approve work carried out on audit assignments
  • Lead the relationships with the Accountable Executives and infrastructure leads covering Global Markets – Credit and Municipal businesses
  • Deputise where needed for the Portfolio Manager at relevant governance committees and meetings
  • Grow capable and diverse talent within the BIA Markets team
  • Deliver a view on the effectiveness and adequacy of risk management and controls to the business and BIA management
  • Contribute to clear and insightful committee reporting for Group and legal entities
  • Build a deep understanding of the Global Markets – Credit and Municipal businesses
  • Drive efficient delivery of the audit plan
  • Ensure lessons learnt are undertaken where events/issues are identified
  • Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management
  • Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan
  • Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk
  • Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments
  • To manage a business function, providing significant input to function wide strategic initiatives
  • Manage the direction of a large team or sub-function
  • Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees
  • Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub-function
