Our client is looking for a dedicated Director/Manager of Financial Reporting to oversee grant program accounting and financial services. This role involves managing budgets, generating financial reports, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, and supporting staff with grant-related financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and expertise in non-profit financial management.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Grant Accounting to prepare accurate financial reports and analyses that meet organizational needs
Provide guidance to staff on grant progress reporting and other financial documentation requirements
Manage invoicing processes for grants, including state, federal, and private funding sources, and assist with accounts payable as needed
Support program staff with financial grant management tasks, including creating monthly financial statements and program budgets
Conduct financial forecasting, budget planning, and analysis to assist program decision-making
Develop the annual budget for projects and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Coordinate audit preparations related to grants, including the Federal Award Schedule and annual financial audit needs
Monitor staff timesheet submissions for completeness and compliance requirements
Ensure adherence to compliance standards for state and federal award regulations
Maintain accurate program expense tracking through general ledger worksheets and allocation records
Requirements:
Proven experience in non-profit financial management and grant accounting, including reporting and compliance
Knowledge of federal grant regulations and single audit requirements
Familiarity with Blackbaud accounting software is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills such as pivot tables
Experience using grants management software and customer relationship management tools
Strong ability to produce financial statements, develop budgets, and conduct detailed financial analyses
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Blackbaud accounting software is preferred
