Job Description:

Capital One is seeking a culture-led, results-driven, and strategic Director of Mainstreet Card Finance. This individual will lead a team of financial analysts. This individual will work directly with the Card (Business) Leadership Team, the Card Finance Leadership Team, and key senior leaders across Finance disciplines including Corporate Planning, Accounting, Balance Sheet & Capital Planning and Corporate Development. The Mainstreet Card business generates meaningful returns for Domestic Card and total Company. This role entails strong cross-functional engagement, deep analytic capabilities, and the ability to leverage data to influence decisions, as well as needing to motivate and drive team agendas.

Job Responsibility:

  • Be a strategic thought partner and advisor with senior business leaders
  • Generate ongoing analytical insights into business performance, the P&L and the consumer
  • Develop and deliver insightful and influential senior management presentations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Analysis, Management Consulting, or a combination
  • At least 4 years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
  • At least 3 years of people management experience

Nice to have:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 12+ years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Analysis, Management Consulting, or a combination
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
  • 4+ years of people management experience including both direct & indirect reports

  • Execute activities that drive technical product understanding and technical consumer insights into creative consumer communications for concept creation, label copy, advertising, public relations
  • Drive SASSY framework within Claims and KBS
  • Deliver robust claims support dossier and final recommendation to relevant Teams (approval of all package label copy, advertising briefs and final commercials, public relations materials, and sales materials)
  • Translate claims into demonstrations that are consumer relevant and drive innovation understanding with consumers, sales, legal, pr/advertising agencies, and external category influencers (magazine editors, etc)
  • Deliver claims ambition for key brands within the Fabric Enhancer Category
  • Develop, substantiate, and defend through challenge, big impactful consumer relevant product claims, interacting in a multi-disciplinary business environment providing a critical link between the BG/BU, Legal, Regs and Marketing
  • Delivery of outstanding claims and communications for our innovations that are robustly supported in technical and consumer understanding
