Job Responsibility:
Responsible for all of the client’s interior design management activities for workplace/retail fit-out projects in the APAC region
Responsible for overseeing and assuring workplace/retail design projects, delivering consistency and performance in accordance to project brief, the client’s design guidelines as well as local regulations
Brief external design consultants on relevant guidelines, standards, tools and processes
Coordination and direction of external design consultants
Attend project management meetings
Review and approve concept and design drawings at stage gateways
Review and approve sample finishes and material submissions from designers
Review and approve interior signage and graphics package
Review and approve furniture schedules
Participate and provide input in value engineering workshops
Site visits / design inspections
Follow up on design support after project completion to clear out defects
Work with cross-function project team members, and support any feasibility studies, workplace strategy, medium to large refurbishment/restack exercise, desktop studies and building code and analysis, business adjacency stacking and other real estate reports of the client’s regional CRE team
Coordinate with project delivery stakeholders throughout the design process (e.g. change management, occupancy planning, transactions management, project management, quantity survey, workplace experience, property services, multimedia, engineering, security, technology, artwork and other necessary consultants)
Provide support to regional CRE team in obtaining business brief, communicate/manage business expectations and gain buy-ins from end users
Serve as the thought leader and build relationships with design networks in the APAC region
ideate and innovate in project design
Continue to challenge the status quo to allow for projects to reach the most optimal outcome, integrating emerging trends and best practices
Maintain the regional Design Guidelines – provide feedback to client’s global team on continuous evolution and improvement
Actively participates in client’s global team design review.
Requirements:
10 Years plus experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, confident and able to gain clients confidence through knowledge, competence and gravitas
Previous experience of working with or within large complex organizations
Programme / Project Management experience in a property/ workplace environment with a demonstrable track record in delivering projects with multiple workstreams (i.e. Construction, IT, furniture, comms, migration) for occupiers
An understanding of finance principles and business case needs in relation to capital projects and property operating cost models
Experienced understanding of design detailing and costs
Experienced understanding of design impact on workplace strategy, user behaviours and the importance of technology integration in the workplace
Good report writing and presentation skills
Sound working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project AutoCAD
An understanding of flexible/agile work styles and the technology required to enable the same, along with a willingness to adopt these principles in your own work
Good team player skills
Good presentation skills including use of appropriate presentation software
Experience of preparing reports and presenting analysis in a business context to non-financial senior management.
