Join RBC's Capital Markets Division as a Director in the Infrastructure Structuring – Advisory Team. Based in London, you'll act as a key component of our Structuring desk, focussed on legal documentation, complex deals and ensuring compliance with governance processes across all pillars of activity. This role demands agility, fast turnarounds, and the ability to manage multi-geography, multi-asset requests simultaneously.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and enhance the Structured OTC platform
  • Lead for Structuring on transactions that are documentation intensive, eg exotic or bespoke OTCs
  • Work in coordination with trading and functions to establish and maintain templates in line with industry practice and regulation
  • Manage for Structuring set up and enhancement of governance framework and best practices in partnership with trading, sales, legal, compliance, tax, risks, ops
  • Optimize the EMTN platform
  • Assist the Transaction Management Team on discrete questions
  • Generate the documentation (term-sheet and final terms / pricing supplements) for new payoffs / products
  • Develop scalable solutions to optimize and automate the EMTN platform
  • Coordinate with Structuring and Trading the structuring of complex repacks
  • Develop new bespoke solutions along with other structuring pillars: from initial design to managing internal processes, approvals and creation of documentation (term-sheet, marketing material)
  • Develop scalable solutions to optimize and automate the repack platform
  • Manage for Structuring set up and enhancement of governance framework for the QIS platform in partnership with trading, sales, legal, compliance, tax, risks, ops
  • Manage for Structuring establishment and maintenance of documentation templates in line with the market and RBC’s best practices
  • Work closely with the QIS team and functions on new indices and benchmarks to ensure timely delivery
  • Participate in client meetings to present products, along with sales and structuring, and negotiate transaction terms
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key internal stakeholders: legal, tax, accounting, middle office and back office
  • Coordinate solutions between sales, trading, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and exhaustive (internal documentation, term-sheets, legal documentation, booking setup, and client deliverables)
  • Manage consumer duty obligations—identifying, escalating, and remediating issues that could lead to unfair customer treatment

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the financial industry, across different activities and asset classes, in legal and / or structuring
  • Significant expertise in derivatives across asset classes, with deep knowledge of the ISDA Derivatives Definitions
  • Significant experience in repacks and solutions transactions, involving liquid or esoteric assets
  • Experience in Quantitative Investment Strategy
  • Knowledge of ENMTN programme mechanics and regulations
  • A graduate degree in Law with background in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or similar discipline
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player with an ability to onboard stakeholders and ability to work across a large span of functions / individuals
  • Integrity, rigorous and detail oriented, and high work ethic
