Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) Europe is seeking a Director – Indirect Strategic Sourcing to lead the development and execution of indirect procurement strategies across the region. This is a highly visible, strategic leadership role with significant influence across a complex, multi-brand clinical environment. You will drive enterprise-wide value by improving operational efficiency, unlocking cost savings, and strengthening supplier partnerships across key indirect categories including professional services, IT, facilities, marketing, logistics, indirect capex, and corporate operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and develop enterprise-level indirect category strategies aligned to MVH’s growth and operational objectives
  • Inspire and manage an international team of sourcing professionals, building capability, succession, and best-in-class category management practices
  • Drive consistent value delivery through advanced supplier and category management
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Finance, IT, HR, Real Estate, Legal, and Marketing
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure early procurement involvement in key initiatives
  • Represent indirect procurement in regional and global leadership forums
  • Present insights, performance, and strategy to C-suite stakeholders within MVH Global
  • Lead complex, high-value supplier negotiations to secure long-term value, resilience, and innovation
  • Oversee governance with strategic suppliers to ensure performance, compliance, and joint value creation
  • Champion supplier diversity, sustainability, and ethical sourcing across all categories
  • Deliver targeted annual cost savings, value creation, and risk mitigation across Europe
  • Define, track, and report KPIs covering savings, supplier performance, compliance, and sourcing effectiveness
  • Ensure sourcing activities meet legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements, partnering closely with Legal on high-value contracts
  • Drive adherence to preferred supplier frameworks and support audit readiness
  • Lead a high-performing team across multiple European markets (5 direct reports)
  • Set clear objectives, provide coaching and development, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation
  • Position Procurement as a proactive, strategic partner across the MVH network

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (required)
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MSc in Procurement/Supply Chain) preferred
  • Professional procurement certification (e.g. CIPS Level 6 or equivalent) highly desirable
  • 10+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing and procurement leadership, ideally in multinational environments
  • Deep expertise across indirect categories including IT, professional services, facilities, logistics, HR, and capital projects
  • Proven success leading and developing international procurement teams
  • Strong background in complex negotiations, supplier relationship management, and category strategy development
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or veterinary sectors is advantageous
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Advanced analytical and financial acumen
  • experience with procurement systems (e.g. Coupa) and data tools (e.g. Power BI)
  • High integrity, sound commercial judgement, and adaptability in a fast-paced, growth-focused organisation
