Job Description:

A highgrowth transactional risk insurer is building out its Italian M&A underwriting capability and is looking to appoint a senior lead for the market. The business can offer genuine commercial autonomy, a mandate to build, and meaningful equit participation linked to the long-term success of the wider Group. As Head of M&A Underwriting for Italy, you will lead underwriting across Italian M&A transactions, with a primary focus on W&I. You will originate and manage broker, private equity, corporate, legal and advisory relationships across the Italian deal community, positioning the business as a credible and active participant in the market. This is not simply an underwriting seat. You will own the Italian brand, build the book, shape the local strategy and have an immediate mandate to grow headcount around you. The role requires substantive W&I experience, strong market credibility and the ability to operate with both technical discipline and commercial intent. The role carries genuine equity participation, structured to reflect the value created in building the Italian business and designed to align long-term with the success of the Group. The position can be based in Milan, Rome, Barcelona or Madrid.
