Job Responsibility:

  • Lead accounting operations and drive financial reporting excellence for a prominent financial services firm
  • Oversee all accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial results, and providing strategic financial narratives to senior management
  • Review financial results, journal entries, and complex reconciliations
  • Analyze financial performance and synthesize narratives for senior management
  • Mentor and provide guidance to accounting staff, fostering process improvements
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee accounting activities related to state filings and financial statement preparation
  • Drive a culture of change management and continuous process improvement within the team

Requirements:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent designation required
  • Significant experience with IFRS17 standards
  • Proven experience in the insurance industry, preferably life insurance
  • Typically 10 or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional projects
  • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
