Job Description

As the Director of Growth Marketing, you will own the strategy and execution of FreshBooks’ growth engine across paid marketing, demand generation, lifecycle, community, and revenue acceleration programs. You will be responsible for driving pipeline, improving conversion, and fueling sustainable ARR growth across our global customer base. This is a high-visibility leadership role that requires strong analytical rigor, a deep understanding of SaaS growth levers, and the ability to orchestrate cross-functional initiatives spanning Product, Sales, Revenue Operations, and Brand Marketing. This role is ideal for someone with long-term aspirations toward VP Marketing, GM, or CRO roles.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and scale FreshBooks’ growth marketing organization to drive sustainable revenue growth by helping more small business owners discover, adopt, and succeed with our platform across the full funnel
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing growth team across paid media, demand generation, lifecycle, and growth strategy, improving execution quality, accountability, and consistency of results
  • Define and execute growth strategies across acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion, translating revenue goals into clear plans that improve conversion, reduce churn, and unlock expansion
  • Own paid marketing performance across search, social, display, programmatic, and emerging channels, improving CAC efficiency and scaling high-performing channels through disciplined experimentation
  • Lead community and advocacy programs that engage the Freshbooks Community: accountants, creators, partners, and Small business owners, turning influencing voices into measurable drivers of acquisition, retention, and revenue
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Brand, Data, and Customer Success to deliver coordinated growth initiatives that reflect real customer needs and improve the end-to-end customer experience

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Growth Marketing, Demand Generation, or Performance Marketing within a high-growth SaaS organization
  • Proven success owning paid marketing programs with significant budgets and delivering measurable revenue outcomes
  • Strong grasp of SaaS funnel metrics including CAC, LTV, payback, activation, retention, and ARR growth mechanics
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-channel demand generation programs that create qualified pipeline for both PLG and sales-led motions
  • Strong analytical skills
