Job Description:

ADG is seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-driven Director - Growth, Bids & Client Relationships to lead national business development, strengthen ADG's market presence, and drive high-quality bid outcomes. This senior role reports directly to the COO, and works alongside our National Discipline Directors, Practice Directors and Senior Leadership Team. This key role will significantly influence the Company's growth trajectory.

Job Responsibility:

  • Strategic Growth Leadership: Drive the development and execution of business development strategies
  • Client Relationship Management: Build, nurture, and expand relationships with key clients
  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across sectors and regions
  • Commercial Oversight: Collaborate with project and practice leaders to ensure commercial viability
  • Bid and Proposal Leadership: Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals and presentations
  • Business Development: Represent ADG at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Innovation and Digital Enablement: Champion the integration of digital tools and innovative approaches
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular insights and reporting to the COO and executive team

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • MBA highly regarded
  • 5-10 years' sales, marketing, business development or commercial leadership within the AEC industry
  • 3-5 years' supervisory or management experience
  • Experience preparing and monitoring Market Sector and Key Client Plans
  • Experience in the utilisation of CRM
  • Proven track record of driving growth and building strategic partnerships
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in consulting, business systems, and strategic planning

  • Reporting to the VP, Client Partnerships, you will work closely with them to develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue and meet goals
  • Take ownership of new account acquisition (both self-derived and assigned) and drive the overall sales strategy to bring to a sign-off
  • Effectively manage and grow ASTOUND relationships to ensure all clients’ needs are listened to, understood, and responded to in a timely way, while driving profitable revenue
  • Guide the development, writing and presentation of bid responses and proposals, scopes of work and budgets
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders throughout the sales process and ensure the delivery of a winning proposal
  • Pre-qualify opportunities by going through a ‘Discovery’ phase with the prospective client to identify whether to pursue the opportunity or not
  • Relentlessly drive client loyalty and growth
  • Guide the development of integrated solutions that leverage ASTOUND offerings and are mutually beneficial for the client and ASTOUND
  • Understand clients’ business and business issues, serving as their trusted advisor
  • Ensure client expectations are clearly communicated and in alignment with all aspects of the opportunity (price, timelines, deliverables, etc.)
