The Director, Fleet Operations is responsible for all aspects of operating and maintaining the company-owned fleet of contract service equipment. This position provides leadership and support to the Operations team and develops organizational habits that ensure the company operates all track maintenance services in a safe, reliable and cost-effective manner, while balancing total cost of ownership decisions with required financial results.

Lead and oversee operational activities of multiple product lines within the fleet
Leverage leaders standard work and accountability to drive operational excellence
Develop and monitor appropriate leading and lagging metrics
Build plan, direct, develop, and implement strategic direction of operational department
Provide expertise and guidance on operations projects, processes, and systems
Manage development of controls and detailed analysis to monitor Operations performance
Manage planning, development, and preparation of departmental budgets and forecasts
Maintain relationship with supply chain
Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts on customer railroads
Interpret directives from customers and the executive team
Work cross functionally to execute core strategies and management operating system
Requirements
Proven ability to lead a culture of safety
Experience leading and developing a team of field-based managers
Experience leading operational activities of multiple product lines
Experience developing and monitoring leading and lagging metrics
Experience managing division P&L's, forecasting, and capital improvements
Experience managing departmental budgets and forecasts
Experience maintaining relationships with supply chain, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
Experience developing and maintaining relationships with key customer contacts
Experience interpreting directives from customers and executive team to create new operating rules, policies, procedures and instructions
Ability to work cross functionally to execute core strategies and management operating system
Experience in coaching and mentoring
