Job Description:

As the Director of Financial Services Platforms, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of FreshBook’s Payroll platform and other Financial Services product offerings. You’ll be accountable for delivering growth and operational excellence across key domains such as partnerships, platform performance, and customer adoption, working cross-functionally to achieve business objectives. This role focuses on translating company strategy into actionable plans for Financial Services Platforms, ensuring strong execution, financial discipline, and an exceptional customer experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and Implement our Financial Services Platforms Strategy: Translate the company’s strategic priorities into functional plans that drive measurable business outcomes
  • P&L Ownership: Develop and manage the functional operating budget, monitoring performance against key financial targets
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day commercial operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and quality of delivery
  • Business Development and Vendor Management: Build and manage relationships with Financial Service Platforms service providers and partners
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with leaders across Product, Marketing, Customer Experience, and other teams to align strategies and deliver shared business results
  • Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing commercial team
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Embed customer-centric thinking into all aspects of Financial Services Platforms operations
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear and proactive communication to executive and cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of senior leadership experience in SaaS, FinTech, or technology-enabled financial services, with accountability for business delivery and outcomes
  • End-to-end ownership of financial platforms or products such as payments, payroll, lending, or flexible pay-as-you-go solutions, including development, strategy, execution, and performance
  • Proven P&L or equivalent financial accountability, managing large, complex budgets and making disciplined investment decisions tied to growth, risk, and long-term value
  • Strong leadership, including experience leading business development efforts, negotiating and managing strategic partners, vendors, and external service providers
  • Demonstrated success leading through change, including scaling teams, transforming operating models, or navigating organizational and market complexity
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally at scale, partnering with Product, Engineering, Marketing, CX, Legal, and Finance to align priorities and deliver results
  • Executive-level communication and judgment, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and make sound decisions in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
