Job Description:

As an Director, Enterprise Architecture at Capital One, you will be leading a team of 5 solution architects, working with software and data engineering teams, guiding architecture of associate-facing banking products; owning and facilitating architecture development; establishing destination-backed architecture strategy, reviewing architecture; providing feedback on application designs; providing input on company-wide initiatives; establishing patterns and practices for onboarding emerging technology, embedding in engineering teams to jump start complex projects; and helping raise the talent bar by recruiting and hiring top engineering talent. You will also work with product owners to articulate benefits of proposed solutions; influence the technical roadmap of enterprise platforms; and help business prioritize work. In this role, the architect will help define and drive towards an end state that is based on simplicity and the adoption of digital technologies, cloud hosting, and enterprise platforms open source software.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 years of experience with enterprise architecture, software architecture, and design patterns
  • At least 5 years of people management experience
  • At least 3 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Master’s Degree (Preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience of working with business leaders on the implications of architectural decisions (Preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with complex architectural patterns (SOA), building APIs, microservices, and event streams (Preferred)
  • 5+ years experience with DevOps or DevSecOps and building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, Chef, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation templates, GitHub, and Sonar (Preferred)
