Director, Digital Assets and Currencies Engineering

• Lead engineering for digital asset and currency (DACs) across HSBC businesses
• Define and lead best technology approach for digital assets and currencies
• Be a thought leader for the subject
• Ensure HSBC understands relevant DACs technology developments and adopts best approaches
• Develop clear, scalable and cost-efficient DACs technology strategy
• Form strong relationships with peers across organization to deliver vision
• Lead thinking on DACs design choices for realistic and valuable products
• Understand and manage relevant technology risks
• Work with colleagues across businesses, technology and digital functions to advance DACs agenda
• Work with third party firms including fintechs, established vendors, and partners
• Ensure DACs offer is appealing and well understood by customers
• Ensure HSBC's DACs technology strategy is known and well explained to stakeholders
• Provide insights into product, technology, and market trends
• Externally represent HSBC in front of regulators and clients to explain DACs technology approach

• Proven experience in digital assets and currencies (DACs) with track record of successful product launches and management
• Proven track record of managing high-performing agile teams
• Strong knowledge of digital assets and how they apply to banking context
• Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to drive teams toward strategic goals
• Effective communicator who can work with multi-jurisdictional, cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams
• Strong relationships with stakeholders including senior leadership
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking capabilities in ambiguity
• Attention to detail, organized yet comfortable with ambiguity
