Corporate Planning & Analysis (CP&A) leads the company-wide forecasting and planning process, supporting critical strategic analysis of the Amex business and industry and provides decision support for the Enterprise Services and Credit and Fraud Risk Organizations. You will contribute to creating shareholder value by leading enterprise-wide forecasting and planning, delivering strategic insights, and partnering across businesses to drive disciplined performance, informed decision-making, and effective capital allocation through data-driven analysis and strong financial governance. You will lead decision-centric financial planning by translating driver-based models and AI-generated insights into clear, probabilistic trade-offs that shape enterprise capital allocation and performance strategy.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver accurate, timely forecasts and variance analysis to support executive and Board-level decision-making
  • Develop driver-based models and scenario analyses to assess risks and opportunities
  • Leverage data, technology, and analytics tools to improve forecasting precision and efficiency
  • Partner with business units, Enterprise Services, and Credit & Fraud Risk Finance to provide actionable financial insights
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Technologies, and the TM1 Development team to deliver on forecasting goals
  • Support capital allocation, performance optimization, and strategic planning initiatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of FP&A processes, tools, and reporting. Proactively identify and eliminate manual, non-value-added BAU activities
  • Lead the design and refinement of driver-based forecasting models that link operational levers to P&L and capital outcomes
  • Interpreting and challenging AI-generated forecasts, ensuring economic logic, transparency, and regulatory soundness

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Finance, Data Analytics, and Profitability analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and creatively about business challenges, identify high-impact analytical opportunities, manipulate large datasets, interpret trends, and generate actionable insights
  • Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and execution capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, compelling narratives and articulate key insights to diverse audiences
  • Ability to explain complex quantitative and mathematical concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Strong understanding of driver-based modeling, probabilistic forecasting, and scenario simulation frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to work with data science and technology partners in deploying AI-enabled analytics
  • Experience operating in regulated environments with model governance, risk management, or control frameworks
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline such as Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field

  • Proficiency in SQL, Hive, Python, PySpark, Regression & Machine Learning Techniques
  • Power BI or other visualization tools experience is strongly preferred
