As Director Corporate Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative and forward-thinking strategies that define BMG’s next chapter. You will work closely with the BMG Board, senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in developing and implementing strategy, establishing partnerships and driving business development, and sharing and aligning BMG’s priorities and progress with our parent company Bertelsmann. This role reports to the VP of Corporate Development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop corporate strategy in close alignment with senior leadership vision and objectives by conducting deep, insightful market / trend / competitor analysis and identifying & assessing strategic opportunities for BMG
  • Own execution of strategic initiatives to turn our corporate strategy into action and realize organizational change in close collaboration with cross-functional, international teams
  • Steer the development and application of AI technologies across our global teams, establishing BMG as the leading innovator in the music industry
  • Lead M&A and business development initiatives from opportunity sourcing and evaluation through financial, strategic and commercial assessment
  • Drive partnerships and business development activity from networking and opportunity identification to opportunity analysis, recommendation development, presentation to senior decision makers and implementation
  • Lead preparation for regular committee meetings covering the latest market developments and their implications, as well as updates on BMG business priorities
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and points of view to support senior leadership decision making on high-priority topics, translating data into meaningful insights and synthesizing & presenting recommendations

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, economics or comparable degree program
  • 4+ years of professional experience in management consulting and / or corporate strategy
  • Excellent problem structuring and analytical skills across quantitative and qualitative applications with impeccable attention to detail
  • First class written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English
  • German proficiency is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to successfully manage senior stakeholders and enact influence without formal authority
  • Proven history of working with a high degree of autonomy and an entrepreneurial mindset, complemented by robust organizational skills
  • Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, technologically-driven environment
  • Proven experience of working as part of a high-performing team
