Job Description:

As a key member of SiriusXM’s Communications team, the Director of Corporate Communications serves as a strategic and operational partner to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, helping shape and drive the company's corporate narrative across a wide range of business areas. This position covers the full spectrum of corporate communications including product, automotive, partnerships, industry storytelling and more. The ideal candidate is equally strong as a strategist and an operator, thriving in fast-changing environments where no two days are alike. This role is highly visible, cross-functional, and requires a blend of creativity, executive presence, media fluency, low ego, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with precision.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communications strategies that elevate SiriusXM’s positioning across consumer, partner, industry, and financial audiences
  • Serve as a primary strategic partner to the SVP, Corporate Communications, helping shape narratives around product, automotive innovation, partnerships, technology, and company-wide initiatives
  • Identify compelling corporate stories including unexpected angles and proactively pitch them to appropriate outlets
  • Build and maintain relationships with business, technology, automotive, and trade journalists
  • Represent the company with reporters when appropriate
  • Generate press releases, talking points, executive bios, media alerts, awards submissions, and other communications materials
  • Partner closely with teams across automotive, technology, product, legal, and marketing
  • Work alongside the Senior Director’s two direct reports and share oversight of their work on overlapping initiatives
  • Contribute to vendor management, internal process optimization
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and developing materials for major industry events and may attend onsite with executives
  • Maintain and refresh team communications materials
  • Explore and champion emerging tools and AI technologies that help improve measurement, efficiency, and workflow within the communications team
  • Demonstrate curiosity and initiative around AI-driven insights, comms tech, and best practices in modern communications

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of communications experience, ideally blending corporate in-house and agency
  • Strong background in corporate/business communications
  • Industry experience in at least one of the following: Technology, Automotive and/or Media
  • Proven success developing and executing high-impact corporate communications strategies
  • Strong media relations skills and ability to engage confidently with a wide range of journalists
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives across complex topics
  • Experience preparing executives for press, speaking engagements, and high-visibility opportunities
  • Strong relationship builder across all organizational levels
  • Thrives in environments that require flexibility, quick pivots, and a wide scope of responsibilities
  • Curiosity about AI, new tools, measurement practices, and continuous improvement
  • Executive presence and confidence in senior-level rooms and industry-facing environments
  • Experience with automation and/or AI tools such as chatGPT, Gemini, etc.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
