Our compliance professionals play a crucial role—not just in ensuring we meet our obligations, but in enabling the firm to innovate, grow and deliver outstanding service to our clients. We are currently seeking a strategic leader to join us as Director, Compliance Advisory EMEA. This is a key role and unique opportunity to make a significant impact overseeing regulatory compliance for our legal, corporate and fund administration service lines across Jersey, Guernsey, UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, and UAE. Based in Jersey and reporting to the Group Head of Risk and Compliance, you will provide strategic guidance and operational oversight to ensure Ogier meets its regulatory obligations and upholds industry best practices within a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and develop the EMEA Compliance Advisory team, ensuring capacity and skills to deliver on both business and individual objectives
Assume the Key Person roles for selected Ogier Global entities in Jersey, overseeing ongoing delivery of compliance support arrangements
Act as key point of contact for local regulatory bodies, managing relationships, notifications, and inspection support
Proactively advise senior management and Boards on emerging regulatory, legal and compliance issues, new products, jurisdictions and strategic projects
Drive compliance risk assessments and action plans for new jurisdictions, products, licences, and business streams
Oversee delivery of accurate and timely compliance reporting to Boards and senior management of Ogier entities across the EMEA region
Develop, implement and maintain group-wide R&C policies, procedures, and training, ensuring adherence to jurisdictional requirements
Oversee regulatory submissions, annual returns and financial crime compliance, providing expert support for complex or higher risk onboarding/CDD escalations and queries
Support remediation activities from regulatory, audit, and compliance reviews
Promote a culture of effective risk conduct, continuous improvement, innovation, and diversity within compliance and throughout Ogier
Requirements:
10+ years’ relevant experience in a similar role (or in a position directly leading up to this level) with an exemplary record of performance and recognised professional qualification
Strong technical knowledge of risk and regulatory frameworks applicable to TCB and FSB business in Jersey, including experience in holding Key Person roles
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for other EMEA jurisdictions beneficial
Proven ability to manage relationships at all levels, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex issues clearly
Experience in team leadership, talent development and succession planning
Excellent analytical, organisational and project management skills
