Isar Aerospace is entering an exciting new growth phase, advancing to the delivery of commercial launch services for institutional, governmental, and commercial customers worldwide. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director Communications to lead all internal and external communications, supporting our business objectives and further elevating our presence in the European and international space sector. Leading a compact, high-performing team, you will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to drive targeted, impactful communications with agility and precision.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and propose a compelling overarching company narrative and positioning
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with company priorities
  • Design and execute milestone communication around launches, achievements, and strategic developments
  • Monitor public perception and industry trends to continuously refine messaging and strategy
  • Collaborate closely with Government Relations, Sales, and Executive Leadership
  • Design, implement, and manage company-wide internal communications formats
  • Foster a culture of transparency, engagement, and alignment
  • Serve as an external spokesperson
  • Position members of the Executive Leadership Team as thought leaders
  • Build and nurture relationships with key media, industry, and government stakeholders
  • Proactively anticipate possible risk scenarios and oversee crisis and reputation management
  • Lead, develop, and empower a compact communications team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
  • 10+ years of international experience in communications (internal + external), public relations, or corporate affairs
  • experience in space, aerospace, defense-tech, or high-tech sectors is a plus
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex technical achievements and strategies into engaging, accessible narratives for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business goals through strategic communications, including support for government engagement and fundraising
  • Significant experience in internal communications, including developing and managing formats that ensure company-wide alignment and engagement
  • Confident and effective external spokesperson, comfortable representing the company at senior levels
  • Proven experience positioning executives in international forums and media
  • Strong network within relevant media, industry, and government circles
  • Experience leading and developing a small, high-performing team
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
