OpenText is seeking a senior communications professional to serve as Director, Communications APAC. Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications - Corporate Functions and Revenue, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing integrated communications strategies that advance OpenText's market leadership position across APAC. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to sales and business leadership across the APAC region, driving communications that support pipeline, market visibility and commercial objectives. The role demands a seasoned communicator who brings strong business acumen, regional market knowledge and the ability to operate with credibility across both internal and external stakeholder groups. The position is open to candidates located anywhere in APAC.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and lead integrated communications strategies that build and sustain OpenText's market leadership position across APAC, adapting global narratives to resonate with regional audiences, media, and stakeholders
Serve as the primary communications partner to APAC sales and business leadership, providing strategic counsel and communications support that contributes directly to commercial objectives and market development
Drive earned media and thought leadership programs across key APAC markets, building OpenText's visibility and credibility with relevant media, analysts and industry influencers
Manage and develop relationships with regional communications agencies, ensuring alignment with global standards and optimal execution across markets
Oversee regional executive communications, preparing APAC leaders for media engagements, speaking opportunities, industry and customer-facing events
Monitor the APAC communications landscape, providing strategic guidance on market trends, competitor positioning and emerging opportunities or reputational considerations
Partner with APAC business and functional leaders to support change communications, organizational updates, and employee engagement initiatives across the region
Deliver internal communications activities to keep APAC employees informed, engaged and aligned with OpenText's strategic direction, business priorities, and corporate culture
Ensure consistency between internal and external messaging, maintaining alignment with global communications standards and the corporate narrative
Work in close collaboration with global communications, marketing, and public affairs teams to ensure APAC communications are fully integrated within the broader corporate communications strategy
Contribute to the planning and execution of global campaigns, major announcements and events that have significant APAC relevance
Serve as the primary regional communications point of contact for cross-functional initiatives involving APAC operations, ensuring consistent and coordinated stakeholder engagement
Requirements:
12+ years of progressive communications experience, with demonstrated leadership in regional or market-specific communications roles of increasing responsibility
Proven experience operating in an APAC market context, with a strong understanding of regional media landscapes, cultural nuances, and stakeholder dynamics across key markets
Established capability as a communications advisor to sales, commercial, or business development leaders, with a clear understanding of how communications contributes to market and commercial outcomes
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to develop high-quality content and messaging across diverse formats, audiences, and channels
Experience in the technology sector, or the ability to quickly learn and confidently communicate complex technical topics
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate credibly and build influence across all levels of a global organization
Fluency in English is required
