Job Description

As the Director of Commissioning, you will lead Crusoe’s end-to-end commissioning program for our rapidly expanding portfolio of data centers, both domestic and abroad. This position will ensure every facility meets Crusoe’s world-class standards for reliability, efficiency, and safety before going into operation. You’ll oversee commissioning strategy, planning, execution, and validation for mechanical, electrical, controls, and life-safety systems—building the processes and teams that will scale Crusoe’s infrastructure globally.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and lead Crusoe’s commissioning strategy and program across all data center builds, expansions, and retrofits
  • Manage and mentor a growing team of Commissioning Managers and Engineers responsible for execution across multiple projects and geographies
  • Establish commissioning standards, templates, and workflows that ensure consistency, quality, and scalability across projects
  • Oversee third-party commissioning agents and coordinate with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure full alignment from pre-functional testing through integrated systems testing and turnover
  • Review and approve commissioning documentation, including test procedures, scripts, MOPs, and acceptance criteria
  • Drive integrated system testing and reliability demonstrations for critical MEP, BMS/EPMS, and life-safety systems
  • Analyze performance data and lessons learned to continuously improve commissioning processes and reduce time-to-market
  • Partner with design and operations to inform design for maintainability, operability, and energy efficiency
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and quality control at every stage of the commissioning lifecycle

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in commissioning data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale infrastructure
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing commissioning teams or programs
  • Deep understanding of MEP systems, controls integration (BMS/EPMS), and commissioning best practices
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across different stages of design and construction
  • Strong vendor management skills and experience coordinating with general contractors, OEMs, and commissioning firms
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline (PE license or CxA certification a plus)

What we offer

  • Industry competitive pay
  • Restricted Stock Units in a fast growing, well-funded technology company
  • Health insurance package options that include HDHP and PPO, vision, and dental for you and your dependents
  • Employer contributions to HSA accounts
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
