Job Description:

We’re looking for an experienced commercial counsel to join our growing Commercial Legal team at Atlassian. This role involves leading strategic projects to scale the Legal and Sales functions, driving customer deals, and providing pragmatic legal and business guidance.

Job Responsibility:

Lead special projects to scale the Legal and Sales functions
Drive strategic customer deals to execution by partnering with Sales and other teams
Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on customer and contract-related issues.

Requirements:

Extensive experience negotiating outbound SaaS contracts
Ability to handle data protection, cybersecurity and revenue recognition issues in connection with commercial contracts
Passion for understanding our customers, products, culture, and business model
Excellent business judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly with a variety of teams
Strong presentation skills, especially with internal business leaders
Willingness to handle new areas of responsibility
Qualified to practice law in your local jurisdiction.

Nice to have:

Strong understanding of software, cloud services and generative AI, associated business models, and technology industry trends
Ability to think creatively beyond the legal box to generate possible solutions and options for the business
Strong sense of humor and resiliency under tight deadlines
Empathy and understanding to navigate conversations with customers.
