Job Description:

The Director of Annual Giving is a strategic and results-driven fundraising leader responsible for designing, executing, and enhancing a comprehensive annual giving program that drives donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth. This role oversees multichannel fundraising efforts including direct mail, email, digital campaigns, and employee giving and plays a key role in building a strong base of philanthropic support from grateful patients, employees, and community members.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual giving strategy that encompasses direct mail, email, digital campaigns, and employee giving programs within allotted budget allocation
  • Lead the implementation of base and mid-level segments of the existing grateful patient fundraising strategy to convert patients into donors
  • Rebuild and enhance the donor pipeline by leveraging segmentation, personalization, and automation to acquire, renew, and retain annual donors
  • Oversee the execution of multichannel campaigns, focusing on data-driven decision-making and testing strategies
  • Work closely with internal partners, including marketing, patient services, and analytics teams, to align messaging and identify new donor audiences
  • Oversee the selection, coordination, and performance of external partners and vendors to ensure the effective execution of annual giving campaigns aligned with organizational goals
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on campaign performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as donor retention, revenue growth, and acquisition rates
  • Collaborate with major gift teams and prospect research to identify prospects through annual giving engagement and support pipeline development
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Public Relations, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university
  • 7 or more years of progressive fundraising experience
  • 3 or more years experience managing annual giving or direct response programs

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Relations or a related field of study from an accredited college or university

  • Demonstrated experience in developing healthcare fundraising strategies or grateful patient fundraising programs, and a working knowledge of HIPAA regulations in a philanthropic context
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to craft compelling donor communications, appeals, and campaign messaging across print and digital channels
  • Strong project, budget, and vendor management skills, with the ability to lead multiple campaigns and initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to analyze data for segmentation, performance tracking, and campaign ROI analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building trust across teams and inspiring philanthropic engagement
