Job Responsibility
Be responsible for defining the strategic vision, overseeing the development, and managing the growth of an organization's autonomous AI systems and platforms
Provide technical leadership for the design, development, testing and deployment of agentic workflows across Capital One
Develop and execute the strategic vision and roadmap for the agentic AI platform
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the platform
Guide technical teams, set best practices for AI orchestration, MLOps, and application development
Work with senior leaders, product management, sales, and other engineering teams
Act as a champion for the platform
Foster a culture of innovation and drive the adoption of AI-powered tools
Ensure the platform is developed and deployed in compliance with industry regulations and ethical AI best practice
Set a strategic roadmap
Partner with a cross-functional team
Advise on the selection of technologies, programming languages, AI/ML models
Make high judgment build-vs-buy decisions
Contribute to the technical vision and the long term roadmap of foundational AI systems
Attract and retain top talent in the AI industry
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 8 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
At least 3 years of people leadership experience
Nice to have
5 years of experience managing and leading an engineering team
7 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud)
Experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g. LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
Passion for staying abreast of the latest AI research and AI systems, and judiciously apply novel techniques in production
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex AI concepts to peers
