Job Description

As Solutions Architect at Director level, you are Mastercard's most forward-deployed technical authority. You operate at the intersection of Mastercard's asset portfolio and the client's real infrastructure — not in theory, but in production. You design agentic systems that are robust, compliant, and built to strengthen over time. You make the promise of Agent Suite credible, buildable, and deliverable. This is a player-coach role within a guild-model team. You carry your own engagements while contributing to the collective intelligence of Agent Suite Services — sharing signal from the field, building reusable patterns, and enabling a global community of colleagues to develop their own depth. The Solutions Architect and the Technical Program Manager are designed to operate as complementary and inseparable partners. The SA owns technical integrity from discovery through validated proof of concept — defining the architecture, ensuring it meets Mastercard's standards, and validating that it performs in the client's environment. From POC sign-off through production deployment and handover, the Technical Program Manager assumes primary delivery accountability, with the SA remaining present as the standing technical authority. Together, they form the complete accountability model for every Agent Suite client engagement. Those who join at this stage will have a defining influence on the standards, culture, and direction of Agent Suite Services as it scales.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and support deployment agentic AI systems inside client infrastructure — cloud agnostic, data platform agnostic, LLM agnostic, and compliant with multiple regulatory environments — that pull through Mastercard assets and integrate with the client's broader agentic agenda
  • Translate Mastercard's technology platforms, payments intelligence, and advisory capabilities into working architectures that a client CTO can trust and a client CFO can justify
  • Own technical solutioning from discovery and architecture through validated proof of concept, working in close partnership with the Technical Program Manager who assumes primary delivery accountability from POC sign-off through production
  • Build systems designed for robustness and resilience — with full auditability, appropriate guardrails, and clear visibility and observability throughout

Requirements

  • Mastercard's Decency Quotient is not a values statement — it is how we operate. We hire for IQ, EQ, and DQ in equal measure. In a cross-functional environment where common ground must be actively and continuously built, the professional who elevates those around them is the professional who belongs here: Decency Quotient
  • You can design a robust agentic architecture and articulate its business impact to a C-suite — without losing either conversation: Technical depth with client fluency
  • You make sound decisions with incomplete information, take ownership of outcomes, and adapt as circumstances evolve: Comfort with ambiguity
  • The standards are high and the scope is broad. You pursue depth with genuine intellectual curiosity and apply rigorous judgment about where that depth is most needed: Curiosity and prioritization
  • You invest in your teammates. You share what you learn. You measure your contribution by the strength of the team, not only by individual performance: Giver's mindset
  • You understand that the strength of this team is inseparable from the diversity of thought, background, and experience each member brings. You contribute to a culture where different perspectives are actively sought, and where collective resilience matters as much as individual excellence: Cultural fit and team spirit

Requirements
  • 6+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or BI, with strong hands-on technical depth
  • Proven experience or deep knowledge of architectures that power natural language querying over structured business data - including semantic layers, LLM-to-SQL patterns, and AI/BI platforms
  • Solid data modeling foundations - dimensional modeling, data contracts, metrics layers - and an understanding of how these underpin reliable AI outputs
  • Experience with modern data stack: Snowflake, dbt, ETL/ELT tooling
  • Experience with automation and integration platforms (WORKATO, e.g.)
  • Genuine excitement about the shift from traditional BI to conversational, agentic intelligence - and the technical judgment to do it right
  • Strong business acumen - able to understand GTM, CS, and Support workflows deeply enough to proactively identify where data and AI can create leverage
  • Proven track record of building trusted partnerships with business stakeholders, influencing roadmaps, and driving adoption of data solutions.
  • Genuine curiosity about how businesses operate, and the ability to ask the right questions before jumping to solutions.
  • Strong communicator who can bridge technical architecture decisions with business use cases for non-technical stakeholders.
Job Responsibility
Job Responsibility
  • Architecting the data foundation that makes it possible for business users to ask questions in plain English and get trusted, real-time answers.
  • Define and execute a strategy to migrate from traditional BI (dashboards, scheduled reports) toward AI-powered, natural language interfaces for business intelligence
  • Architect the data layer that enables LLM-based querying — including semantic layers, vector stores, knowledge graphs, and metadata enrichment — so that AI agents can reliably reason over company data
  • Design and own a scalable, AI-ready data architecture — warehouse/lakehouse structure, semantic layer, and data contracts — that supports both analytical and AI/ML workloads
  • Build robust data modeling foundations (clean entities, clear metrics definitions, consistent taxonomies) that LLMs can reason over accurately
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders across GTM, Customer Success, Finance, and Product — proactively engaging them to understand their decision-making needs
  • Translate ambiguous business questions ("why is churn spiking in the mid-market?") into well-defined data problems, and then into scalable, AI-powered solutions
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels — from individual analysts to VP and C-suite — and maintain a prioritized roadmap that reflects real business value
