Job Description

As the Director, Digital Ads Products and Solutions, you will play an important role in the development and execution of advertising technology and product strategy for Riott Media. Working closely with the VP of Riott Media and MVP of Tech & Digital, You will help define and deliver Riott Media’s Ad Tech ecosystem and product roadmap, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of advertising technology platforms that power Riott Media’s monetization strategy. This role is pivotal in building scalable, data-driven ad product solution (e.g., audience targeting, ad serving, performance analytics, inventory management, new ads formats) to enable advertisers to engage with high-value travelers across Riott Media’s ads product offering (e.g. On-property Ads, Owned Digital Ads, Offsite Digital Ads). You will work closely with Sales, Operations, and cross-functional teams to select and implement SaaS vendors, manage product roadmaps, shaping ad solutions, incorporating partner feedback and ensure technical alignment with business objectives. In this role, you will be expected to thrive in a startup-like environment. This role demands an entrepreneurial mindset, technical experience, comfort with ambiguity, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You are an excellent communicator and leader who will inspire the advertising product and tech strategy, incorporating customer insights and Marriott’s unique value. You are naturally curious and stay current on the MarTech/Ad Tech ecosystem, digital marketing, and the evolving commerce media landscape.

Job Responsibility

  • Ad Tech Platform Strategy: Work closely with business and tech team to define and execute the Riott Media’s ad tech ecosystem and product roadmap, including ad servers, audience segmentation tools, performance dashboards and more, ensuring integration with broader strategic goals
  • Lead end-to-end product development lifecycle for ad-related features. Develop regular, impactful communication of new products, progress, issues, and impact to be presented to executive steering committee members & other senior stakeholders
  • Partner with stakeholders (sales, marketing, finance, Digital) to align platform capabilities with revenue goals (e.g., CPM optimization, advertiser ROI)
  • SaaS Vendor Selection, Management & Implementation: Evaluate, select, and oversee implementation of ad tech SaaS solutions (e.g., DSPs, DMPs, ad servers) to enhance platform capabilities
  • Manage vendor contracts, SLAs, and integration with Marriott’s first-party data infrastructure
  • Guide the vendor to meet Marriott’s spec and standard of technical architecture design, implementation and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and ad industry standards
  • Project & Program Management: As the technical PM, own cross-functional projects (e.g., launching new ad formats, integrating third-party measurement tools) from planning to delivery
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, data, and IT teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize system performance
  • Monitor KPIs (e.g., fill rate, CTR, ad revenue growth) and report progress to leadership
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a bridge between advertising/sales teams and Digital & Technology teams to translate business and customer needs into technical requirements
  • Work with finance to model the ROI of ad tech investments and align with cost-center budgets
  • Foster innovation by exploring emerging ad tech trends (e.g., AI-driven ad creative, contextual targeting)
  • Infrastructure & Scalability: Build a robust ad tech infrastructure that supports rapid scaling as MMN expands its ad inventory and advertiser base
  • Ensure systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with Marriott’s enterprise architecture and compliance standards and requirements
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation and optimization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in ad tech product management, solution architecture design, preferably in media/advertising, SaaS, or enterprise product and tech
  • Three or more years in a leadership capacity overseeing cross-functional teams across technical functions
  • Strong technical acumen: Deep understanding of commercial media and ad tech stack (e.g., DSP, DMP, SSP), API integrations, and cloud infrastructure (Alicloud, AWS, Azure)
  • Vendor management expertise: Proven track record in evaluating and implementing ad tech SaaS solutions (e.g., Google Ad Manager, The Trade Desk)
  • Leadership & communication skills: Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and lead matrix teams
  • Agile/Scrum methodology experience, familiarity with iterative delivery frameworks
  • Experience in digital advertising, programmatic platforms, or media tech (e.g., ad servers, DSPs, DMPs) technical solutioning & architecture design, as well as digital product management
  • Experience working with media or ad networks in the travel, hospitality, retail, or e-commerce sectors
  • Background in hotel/retail/luxury brand ecosystems or working with large-scale loyalty programs
  • Familiarity with Marriott’s digital products (e.g., Bonvoy app, GRE) or similar travel/entertainment platforms
  • Strong background of technical strategic planning, solution architecture design and system integration
  • History of delivering performance-driven business outcomes in matrixed organizations with competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, strategic insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
