Job Description:

We are looking for a strategic accounting leader to guide core financial operations and ensure accurate, timely reporting for the organization in San Francisco, California. This role will oversee the close process, strengthen compliance and audit readiness, and improve the reliability of accounting workflows and controls. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to partner across teams to support business decisions. Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and develop accounting team (revenue, leases, GL, reporting)
  • Oversee close processes (month/quarter/year) and ensure GAAP-compliant financials
  • SME for revenue (ASC 606) and lease accounting
  • manage fixed assets and depreciation
  • Handle sponsorships, retail leases (CAM, audits), and event settlements
  • Partner with operations on capital and maintenance projects
  • Research and document technical accounting issues
  • Improve processes and strengthen controls in R2R cycle
  • Maintain internal controls and support audits

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years experience
  • 5+ years in leadership (public + corporate preferred)
  • Strong US GAAP expertise (ASC 606, 842)
  • Experience with process improvements, controls, and system implementations
  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills
  • SOX and real estate accounting experience a plus
  • Strong leadership with team development skills
  • Able to explain complex accounting to non-finance stakeholders
  • Data-driven problem solver
