Job Description:

Ready to shape the future of housing and regeneration across England and Wales? Local Partnerships is growing – and we’re looking for experienced professionals with the skills, credibility and drive to deliver transformational change in the public sector. We work closely with central government, the Local Government Association (our part-owners), and councils across the UK to build sector capacity, unlock housing delivery and boost economic growth. As we expand our portfolio, we’re seeking individuals who can turn national priorities into local impact. You may come from a technical background (property, housing, development) or a broader role within regeneration public or private sector – we welcome both. What matters most is your ability to make things happen on the ground. We are currently recruiting for a Director with experience in housing and regeneration – particularly in relation to housing development and Council housebuilding.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading and/or supporting housing and regeneration projects, independently or as part of a team
  • Providing project direction, managing transitions across stages and applying appropriate methodologies
  • Producing strategic reports, business cases, and client-ready outputs
  • Overseeing delivery phases, budgets, governance, and project transitions
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Shaping future business development and contributing to our national impact
  • Working with the Place based Senior Directors and Directors to ensure each project is delivered efficiently, effectively, on time and within budget

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of project delivery experience in regeneration, housing or related sectors
  • Deep understanding of public sector governance, legislation, and delivery environments
  • Strong project management skills, including risk mitigation and stakeholder engagement
  • Exceptional inter-personal and communication, report writing, and problem-solving capabilities
  • A good understanding of the UK planning and development process and its interaction with development viability and funding considerations
  • Experience working with or within local government, central government, or housing bodies
  • Self-motivation with the ability to identify what requires doing and the enthusiasm to see tasks through
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to lead across disciplines and partner organisations
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a flexible approach in order to adapt to changing working requirements
  • MRICS and/or MRTPI qualification, and those with proven experience in financial appraisal, development viability assessment and the ability to provide commercially focused advice to clients
  • Experience of Council housebuilding and/or finance (HRA or non HRA), housing
  • Experience of housing asset management, repairs, housing health and safety

Nice to have:

  • MRICS and/or MRTPI qualification, and those with proven experience in financial appraisal, development viability assessment and the ability to provide commercially focused advice to clients
  • Experience of Council housebuilding and/or finance (HRA or non HRA), housing
  • Experience of housing asset management, repairs, housing health and safety
What we offer:
  • flexible, home-based working with UK travel
  • competitive benefits package
  • supportive work culture that values balance and wellbeing
