Director - Model Validation

• Lead a team to conduct independent review and effective challenge for AI non-model objects (including Gen AI Objects) for Personal Bank, Wealth Management, and Global Functions
• Lead for Validation Guidelines for Gen AI Objects and ensure continuous communication and training of the Sponsor / Developers of the Gen AI Objects
• Assist Head of AI Risk Review to manage AI/ML risk across all life-cycle activities including initial review, ongoing monitoring, and periodic reviews
• Management of enhanced compliance oversight required for Gen AI due to emerging technology – multiple requests from Internal Audit & Regulators
• Manage stakeholder interactions with AI/ML object developers and owners across the review lifecycle
• Contribute to strategic, cross-functional initiatives within the model risk management organization
• Interacts with senior levels of management to facilitate understanding of usage of risk models and inform critical decisions
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

• 15+ years of experience in data analytics, model development, model validation, or risk management within global financial institutions
• Experience / familiarity with AI / ML applications in areas such as clustering, anomaly detection, chatbot, natural language processing, image / voice recognition, robotic process automation
• Experience with Generative AI applications and risk management is preferred
• In-depth technical knowledge of common AI/ML techniques and strong understanding of risks associated with AI/ML (including Generative AI) and corresponding mitigants
• Ability to collaborate with peers and stakeholders with various background, and to effectively explain technical terms to audience with different levels of technical knowledge
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives within Risk, Technology, or LOBs
• Ability to deliver compelling presentations and influence executive audiences
• Excellent communicator with ability to engage and inspire team forward
• Ability to drive innovation via thought leadership while maintaining end-to-end view
• Effective cross-functional project, resource, and stakeholder management
• effectively engage with internal audit and external regulators
• Bachelor’s degree in the fields of mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, data science, AI/ML, etc., potentially Master’s degree and managerial experience
