At Diesel’s Head Office in Milan, we are looking for a Direct Channel - Controlling Manager Europe to join our Finance team. The role will report directly to the Group Finance Director and will act as a key partner to Retail leadership across the European Region, and will be responsible for performance steering, business partnering, and strategic decision-making across the European region.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as a senior Finance partner to Retail and key business functions, supporting and influencing strategic and operational decisions through fact-based analysis
  • Drive the analysis of Retail performance versus budget and forecast, identifying risks, opportunities, and key variances with reference to all Channels (Full Price, Outlet, Concession)
  • Deliver actionable insights to support decision-making and continuous performance improvement across the region
  • Drive process for new store opening, relocations, refit, ensuring financial data are a key component of business decisions
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of monthly closing activities, in coordination with Diesel Global HQ in line with Group policies and reporting timelines
  • Guarantee reliability of financial data, acting as a key point of coordination between HQ Finance, regional teams, and local entities
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the European Retail channel, consolidating inputs across countries and cost areas
  • Validate assumptions, challenge business inputs, and ensure robustness of financial projections
  • Provide clear visibility on financial outlook and key drivers
  • Own and continuously enhance the Retail reporting framework, ensuring clarity, consistency, and business relevance
  • Translate financial data into meaningful insights for senior stakeholders and Retail leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop the EU Retail Controlling team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and strong execution
  • Set priorities, provide guidance, and contribute to key strategic initiatives at European level

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Business Controlling, with a strong focus on Retail Finance
  • Proven experience in international and multi-store environments (fashion/luxury is a strong plus)
  • Strong track record in business partnering with senior stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of retail KPIs and store economics
  • Experience in managing and developing teams
  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or similar
  • Fluent in English
  • additional European languages are a plus
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical tools knowledge
  • SAP knowledge required
  • familiarity with planning/reporting tools (e.g. Board, Power BI) is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills
  • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced organization
